On behalf of the Board of Directors of STEM, it is with many mixed feelings that we announce that as of August 31, 2006 STEM will officially end. This follows a great deal of discussion on the topic and rest assured the decision did not come easily. STEM has been a part of many of our lives for years. We all feel sad shutting it down- similar to “losing an old friend”. Details of the dissolution will be finalized within the next few months and posted here.

In light of this decision, there will be no directory published for the upcoming school year. STEM asks that if you are interested in contacting a mentor after August 31, 2006 to please contact
President Beverly Schwartz directly at (518) 270-8270 or
email
info@stemmentors.org.

Finally, we would like to thank each and every one of you for all your support throughout the years, not only financially but also for helping to make STEM the success that it has been for so many years. We believe we helped make a difference in the lives of the students of the Capital District and
thank you for affording us the opportunity to do just that.
